Lincoln City Supporters Trust has written to Bolton Wanderers Chairman Phil Garside to bring to his attention the deplorable arrangements for visiting Imps fans at the recent FA Cup round 3 tie.
Trust Chair Lissie Wilkins said, “Having received numerous complaints from our fans regarding the arrangements both pre and post match, I have written on behalf of the Trust to express our disappointment and concern about what happened”.
Lissie continued by saying, “Whilst accepting that both clubs did not anticipate the size of the following of LCFC fans it was clear from the large queues forming that there may be issues with entry and when it became obvious this was the case, why did it take so long for Bolton to react in opening more turnstiles and a more sensible efficient approach be taken at the turnstiles. In addition, were the authorities and referee made aware of the situation and were any requests made for a delayed kick off? Even 20 minutes would have solved the problem”.
Lissie concluded by commenting, “Our fans clearly do not find this acceptable at a modern Premiership stadium which was not even half full and we are demanding answers from Bolton and seeking assurances that other visiting teams will not face the same disruption to their match day”.
