About The Trust

The Lincoln City Supporters’ Trust or ImpsTrust was formed in 2001. The first job for the newly formed Supporters' Trust was to fully support the campaign to ensure the future of Lincoln City Football Club also known as the Imps or Redimps.

Plunged into administration the Imps were in desperate need of a saviour. The Trust wholeheartedly threw their collective strength into the “Save the Imps” campaign. The Imps have been entwined with our hopes and hearts for well over 100 years. It was perhaps fitting then, that the community came to the rescue of their beloved Lincoln Imps. The rejuvenated Lincoln City thus became a true supporters club. Indeed its largest shareholder was, and still is, the Lincoln City Supporters’ Trust or ImpsTrust.

Freely elected voluntary officers continue as custodians of the Cathedral City club to this day. With supporter directors on the board taking active decisions, the fans will always have a say in the running of the Red Imps. A recent example being the role played by Trust in the selection of Chris Sutton  the new manager. Most fans at other clubs can only dream of such democracy and empowerment.

We were born at a time when the Imps faced administration and action was required to save our club. In the years from 2001 to 2008, we donated well in excess of a quarter of a million pounds with a massive £196,137.04 going to LCFC through donations, share purchases and regeneration funding along with £70,217.00 into the Goal school holiday club and additional funding towards the Air Ambulance and local community projects, a total of £268,925.04!

The Trust is a major share holder, approximately 25%, in the football club and two Trust Board members sit on the Club Board. We have over 1,400 members

The Trust works closely with the football club to maintain and develop community involvement and ownership. We have sourced grants towards the improvement of resources at the stadium and the Trust led the introduction of “The Club’s the Hub” a local regeneration project aimed at benefiting one of the most disadvantaged areas in Lincoln and also delivers a wide range of community activities including the GOAL school holiday club. We are also proud to sponsor a first team player, the youth team shirts as part of our commitment to the young people of the area and the Trust Suite at Sincil Bank where many fans gather prior to games.

We never forget that the Trust is the voice of the fans, we meet regularly with members at forums where questions can be put to the Club Board and football team management as well as to Trust Directors. We have a regular newsletter and are available to meet any supporter prior to home games or via e-mail and phone.

Our objectives are clear and included on this website and we have a rolling business plan to build membership, enhance communications and raise funds. If you are not yet a member you can join now!
